About Our Family:
We are an international, fast-paced household seeking a skilled and thoughtful chef who can support us with high-quality meal planning and preparation during a busy season. Our family follows an animal-based nutritional style, and a few family members have dairy sensitivities/allergy, making allergy-aware cooking essential. We consume a high-protein diet with a strong emphasis on meat, clean ingredients, and fresh, minimally processed foods.
Life here moves quickly, and our kitchen is the heart of the home. We're looking for someone who brings organization, structure, and culinary confidence—someone who eases the daily load by planning ahead, prepping efficiently, and helping reduce the overall mess and time spent cooking. This role is short-term to start (approximately two months), with the possibility to grow if it becomes a great match for everyone.
Who You Are / What We're Looking For:
You are a seasoned, reliable chef or home cook with strong meal-planning skills and deep familiarity with dietary restrictions. You're organized, calm, and efficient—able to batch-prep meals, coordinate ingredients, and keep the kitchen running smoothly. You communicate clearly, take feedback well, and enjoy collaborating with parents to create meals the whole family can enjoy (with dairy-free versions). You work well independently, enjoy creating systems, and take pride in delivering nutritious, high-quality, allergy-aware meals. A German-speaking candidate is preferred; English communication is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meal Planning and Prep Support
- Create weekly or biweekly meal plans tailored to family preferences.
- Batch-prep proteins, vegetables, lunches, and dinners.
- Prepare allergy-friendly versions of meals (no dairy from any animal; fermented products and plant-based milks acceptable).
- Prepare and deliver meals—either in the family's home or your own kitchen.
- Support high-protein, animal-based eating patterns; ability to cook a wide variety of meats.
- Prepare homemade snacks for the children on a weekly or biweekly basis.
- Shop for groceries and meal-related items.
- Maintain kitchen tidiness and fully clean the workspace after prep.
- Support getting children involved in the kitchen when helpful for the family.
- Inventory & Errands
- Track and restock cooking staples; maintain grocery lists.
- Shop for all meal-prep ingredients and specialty items for allergy-friendly cooking.
