Senior Associate in automated cell culture

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a skilled professional with a minimum of two years' experience in large-scale mammalian cell culture and a background in assay development or High-Throughput Screening within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry. A completed apprenticeship, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in a relevant scientific discipline is required.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced in executing and troubleshooting cell-based assays and automated systems. With a strong desire to learn and grow, this person will expand their automation and digital workflow expertise while contributing actively in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain automated cell culture systems to ensure consistent and reliable large-scale cell production for HTS and profiling campaigns. Optionally, contribute to the design of a new automated cell culture system with an external partner.
• Plan and execute automated experiments supporting hit identification through HTS campaigns and lead optimization via weekly profiling assays.
• Manage experimental planning, material ordering, execution of biochemical and cellular assays on automated platforms, and subsequent data analysis.
• Work closely within a matrix team environment, collaborating with assay development groups focused on cellular, biochemical/biophysical, MS, or RNA-based methods.
• Continuously expand your knowledge in laboratory automation and digital processes to contribute to building a "lab of the future."

Must-Haves:

• Completed apprenticeship, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in a relevant scientific field (PhD not required).
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in large-scale mammalian cell culture and assay development, ideally including HTS exposure.
• Strong hands-on expertise in setting up and running various cell-based assays and formats.
• Initial experience or interest in lab automation and enthusiasm for further development in this area.
• Precise, resourceful, and solution-oriented mindset with strong troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, and confidence in organizing and leading meetings.
• Fluent English (spoken and written).

Nice to Have:

• Previous experience with automated cell culture systems or laboratory automation in general.
• Familiarity with workflow scheduling software (e.g., Cellario, GreenButtonGo) and data analysis tools such as Genedata, Spotfire, or D360.
