Das WSL-Institut für Schnee- und Lawinenforschung SLF gehört zur Eidg. Forschungsanstalt WSL und damit zum ETH-Bereich. Die WSL befasst sich mit der nachhaltigen Nutzung und dem Schutz der Umwelt sowie mit einem verantwortungsvollen Umgang mit Naturgefahren. Sie beschäftigt rund 600 Mitarbeitende, davon 180 am SLF in Davos.
Die Forschungseinheit Alpine Umwelt und Naturgefahren und das Forschungszentrum CERC «Climate Change, Extremes and Natural Hazards in Mountain Regions» am SLF in Davos bietet eine neue Tenure-Track-Position für eine/n
Wissenschaftliche/n Mitarbeiter/-in im Bereich Steinschlag/Blockschlag Prozesse 80–100% (w/m/d)
Als Wissenschaftler/in im Bereich Steinschlag/Blockschlag untersuchen Sie Sturzprozesse – einschließlich Kontaktmechanik, Energiedissipation, Fragmentation sowie die Wechselwirkungen mit verschiedenen Waldtypen und technischen Schutzmaßnahmen. Ihre Forschung dient der Verbesserung der Gefahrenbeurteilung und Risikominderung, und beinhaltet auch die Entwicklung von Strategien zur Optimierung des Managements von Naturgefahren im Kontext der Klimaänderung.
Sie entwickeln innovative Forschungsprojekte, werben Drittmittel ein und leiten Studien sowohl eigenständig als auch in Zusammenarbeit mit der Praxis und Forschenden innerhalb und außerhalb der WSL. Sie betreuen Studierende, veröffentlichen in wissenschaftlichen und angewandten Fachzeitschriften, präsentieren Ihre Ergebnisse auf führenden Konferenzen und tragen zur praktischen Anwendung Ihrer Forschungsergebnisse bei. Durch diese Tätigkeiten leisten Sie einen entscheidenden Beitrag zur Weiterentwicklung der Steinschlagforschung auf nationaler und internationaler Ebene.
Sie verfügen über einen fundierten Hintergrund mit Doktorat oder äquivalentem Leistungsausweis in Ingenieurwissenschaften, Geophysik, Geowissenschaften oder einem verwandten Fachgebiet. Sie arbeiten gerne in interdisziplinären Teams und zeichnen sich durch Ihre Fähigkeit zur Zusammenarbeit mit der Praxis aus. Praktische Erfahrung in Standortuntersuchungen, Feldinstrumentierung, der Entwicklung von Steinschlag/Blockschlag Schutzmassnahmen oder in der Kooperation mit der Industrie ist von großem Vorteil.
