This role sits at the heart of a large, complex, mission-critical environment where data truly matters.
Youll play a dual role:
Product Owner for a modern cloud data platform
Architect shaping its long-term vision, standards, and scalability
Your Mission
As Data Platform Architect & Product Owner, you will take end-to-end ownership of a cloud-based data platform used across multiple business domains.
Your time split:
50% Product Ownership | 50% Architecture
You will:
- Define and drive a clear platform vision & roadmap, always keeping the big picture in mind
- Own backlog prioritisation and stakeholder alignment (internal & external)
- Act as an enabler for Data Engineering, Analytics & Data Science teams
- Design and evolve data integration patterns, standards & best practices
- Scale and optimise platform architecture with a strong focus on governance & sustainability
- Work hands-on with Solution Architects & Data Engineers
- Collaborate closely in a pragmatic SCRUM environment, with regular on-site interaction
What You Bring
Youre a strategic thinker with a strong technical backbone and excellent communication skills.
Must-haves:
- Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics or similar
- Experience as a Data Architect in a data platform environment
- Strong hands-on expertise in:
- Azure cloud architectures
- Databricks
- Data Engineering (ETL/ELT, data modelling, APIs)
- DevOps practices (GitHub, Terraform)
- Data governance & architectural principles
- Ability to translate complex technical topics for both engineers and senior stakeholders
- Proactive, autonomous, and comfortable making dependencies & risks transparent
- Fluent in German & English (spoken & written)
