Manager Operations

Strategy & Planning

• Work with the top management to formulate an annual production plan in tune with the overall business strategy.
• Actively initiate/ participate in Make or Buy decision makings.
• Monitor & adjust the resources available to execute the business plan. Plan for availability of required resources (Machines, manpower, materials) at the right time.
• Plan, develop, and implement strategies for improving quality of product and timely deliverable.
• Direct and coordinate manufacturing operations within company policies and procedures.

Plant Operation & Efficiency

• Establish and monitor all operating targets for Production, Quality, Downtime, Maintenance Expenses, and Dispatch in tune with business strategy.
• Maximize the throughput of desired quality by optimizing the capacity and resources.
• Ensure coordination between departments for smooth functioning.
• Implement systems to track and reduce losses at various stages.
• Monitor the efficiency of manufacturing operations and take necessary actions to reduce the various consumption ratios.
• Ensure best practices are established across the production processes to improve operational efficiency.
• Advocate for implementation of Lean methodologies & Industry 4.0 digitization initiations.

Cost Management

• Analysis of departmental cost & implement departmental cost control measures.
• implementation of effective and robust MIS and efficient reporting system.
• Plan and review efforts for new product development as per the business requirement & market need
• Ensure technical support is provided to customers proactively.
• Monitor customer complaints and take necessary action to avoid recurrence of same in future.

Environment, Health & Safety

• Ensure compliance with all government policies and legal requirements to achieve high standards of environmental protection and safety measures.
• Fix safety targets and monitor the same on a regular basis.
• Ensure mechanism is in place for timely accident investigation and follow up.
• Identify / document & execute sustainability improvement actions within the plant.

People Management & Employee Relations

• Responsible for ensuring a right sized, competent and an engaged workforce team.
• Ensure effective employee development and engagement initiatives are taken.
• Ensure cordial employee relations and good internal communication.
• Ensure that the laid down HR process and IR process is followed with due diligence.
• Monitor performance and review plans for training, skill development in the plant.
• Ensure all necessary initiatives to maintain harmonious Employee Relations.

Education/ experience / languages:

• B.E. (Mech.) with 15-20 years' experience in manufacturing/operations.
• Team player with good business acumen
• Knowledge of Labour laws is mandatory.
• Expert in Lean/ Industry 4.0
• Experience of handling Unionised employees.

Special requirements:

• English, Marathi
• Language skill in German would be added advantage.
• Knowledge of EOHS

Key performance indicators (KPI's):

• Expertise in Lean/ Industry 4.0/ Digitisation.
• Experience of handling Unionised employees. Timely completion of Customer documentation.
