Our Opportunity
Burger King is creating a senior leadership role to bring together Brand Marketing, Communications, Media & Innovation.
The Sr. Director of Marketing, Burger King, EMEA
will be the strategic and creative leader responsible for elevating Burger King's brand expression across the region. This leader partners closely with Burger King's franchisee CMOs across EMEA, International brand teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive a consistent, modern, culturally relevant brand agenda with particular emphasis on great tasting food, social-first storytelling, and integrated communication planning.

You will oversee a cross-functional team spanning Innovation, Communications, Partnerships, Social & Media, ensuring these functions work as a unified engine that accelerates our brand's growth across all channels and countries within the EMEA region.

This role is about raising the bar, amplifying what already works, and pushing the brand further into culture, creativity, and relevance with coherence, ambition, and world-class execution.

The role is located in Zug, Switzerland and requires 5 days per week office presence. Additionally, you might be required to travel frequently within the region.
Your Roles & Responsibilities
EMEA Brand Strategy & Accelerated Brand Agenda

  • Shape and champion a cohesive, forward-looking EMEA brand strategy that provides clarity, consistency, and ambition for the region.
  • Translate the global brand positioning into practical, inspiring frameworks for markets to deploy in their local context & calendars.
  • Partner with franchisee CMOs to refine market-level priorities and ensure countries have the tools, assets, and direction needed to scale impactful work.
  • Serve as the senior brand advisor to markets, fueling momentum behind their communication and innovation plans.

Creative Excellence & Communications Leadership

  • Set the standard for breakthrough creative work across EMEA, elevating the craft, clarity, and cultural resonance of everything we produce.
  • Lead the development of campaign playbooks, creative toolkits, and brand assets that ensure consistency across countries while embracing local creative expression.
  • Partner with markets through creative brief development, pitch processes, idea qualification, and agency partnership best practices.
  • Ensure all communication materials align with brand voice, visual identity, and strategic direction, while inspiring work that makes the brand more distinctive and culturally influential.

Innovation Strategy & Brand-Building Product Pipeline

  • Oversee the regional innovation agenda, ensuring strong integration with brand strategy, assortment & portfolio plan and comms.
  • Build a pipeline that balances core innovation, renovation, brand-building limited-time offers, and breakthrough ideas aligned with cultural and consumer trends from quantified opportunities
  • Ensure innovation workstreams are tightly connected with key markets to prove case and rollout region wide
  • Strengthen brand by ensuring great tasting food building our unique attributes & tapping into incremental segments, true to BK's DNA

Media Strategy & Ecosystem Leadership

  • Lead the regional media strategy, ensuring Burger King shows up in the right channels with the right message and investment mix.
  • Guide markets on media planning principles, platform best practices, channel architecture and the role of paid, owned, and earned in driving brand and performance outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships with media platforms and agencies, unlocking opportunities for innovation, effectiveness, and scaled regional programs.
  • Ensure creative and media work hand-in-hand, especially for social-driven campaigns targeting young adults.
  • Partner with markets to accelerate digital maturity and strengthen full-funnel integration across communication plans.

Social, Youth Culture & Cultural Relevance

  • Build a region-wide social strategy that prioritizes relevance with young adults and strengthens BK's presence in culture.
  • Lead the development of creator, influencer, and cultural partnership strategies, building on inspiration from successful youth-culture examples
  • Champion rapid, platform-native ways of working, real-time storytelling, emerging formats, and creative experimentation.
  • Develop playbooks and shared frameworks that help markets elevate social craft, channel-specific creative, and cultural fluency.

Partnerships, Collaborations & Licensing

  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships across key passion points to build brand relevance
  • Strengthen regional execution of global licensing programs
  • Drive collaborations that reinforce brand distinctiveness and help position BK as a brand active in culture.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Market Enablement

  • Act as the senior marketing partner to country CMOs, enabling clarity, ambition, and alignment across markets.
  • Partner closely with Global brand teams to ensure EMEA is represented and supported in global initiatives.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead and mentor a diverse team across design, innovation, communications, social, and media.
  • Set a culture of creativity, rigor, collaboration, and proactive market support with Data driven decision making.
  • Develop talent capability across the region

Your Skills & Experience

  • 10-15 years in brand marketing, communications, media strategy, and innovation;
  • Experience in FMCG/CPG or restaurant industry required; previous experience working with QSR and/or culturally influential brands preferred;
  • Proven experience in multi-market / regional roles is required; experience within the EMEA region is strongly preferred;
  • Track record of building bold, effective creative and integrated campaigns;
  • Deep understanding of digital and social platforms, creator ecosystems, and emergent youth culture behaviors;
  • Proven ability to lead agencies, manage cross-functional teams, and influence C-suite partners;
  • Ability to influence cross-functional senior stakeholders and comfortable navigating matrixed, multi-market environments;
  • Strong capability in building strategies, designing frameworks, simplifying complexity, and enabling execution;
  • Passion for new trends, creativity, media, and great tasting food;
  • Fluent in English.
