Short Description

As an Application Engineer – Salesforce, you will be responsible for the execution and implementation of various applications in the overall application stack within the organization, acting as a member of the IT Application Management team in AO IT. You will serve as the specialist for the Salesforce platform, consulting, implementing, testing, and creating training/documentation materials for Salesforce and related applications. You will also coordinate with partners, oversee the system landscape, and support business stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure the continued success of the event management and membership solution built on the Salesforce platform.
  • Provide 2nd level support and troubleshooting for Salesforce, collaborating with relevant partners.
  • Act as Salesforce administrator/support lead.
  • Coordinate with partners regarding the development of the overall Salesforce platform in both project and operations mode.
  • Correct application malfunctions and errors.
  • Oversee and support a total system landscape of applications, including further development and contact with business stakeholders.
  • Inform application users about malfunctions, application messages, and planned interruptions.
  • Collaborate on the specification, testing, and rollout of application-related releases.
  • Take responsibility for minor projects within the team and contribute to maintaining quality and productivity as a professional team member.
Main Requirements
  • Strong technical expertise in engineering, business, systems development, ideally supported by an advanced degree.
  • Additional professional certifications (e.g. Salesforce Admin) are considered a valuable asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in application management, development, or consultancy.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing the application life cycle from idea to implementation.
  • Ability to drive innovative solutions and streamline processes within supported applications.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with internal teams and external partners.
  • Deep understanding of regional differences, ensuring globally relevant but locally impactful strategies and solutions.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to manage relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Fast understanding of complex business processes.
  • Proficient in English; German is a plus.
