We've partnered with one of the leading universities in Zurich that's advancing its IT infrastructure. They are looking for an experienced Senior System Engineer – Linux to strengthen their platform operations and play a key role in shaping the future of their container and cloud environments.

Your Role

You'll design, operate, and optimise Linux and Kubernetes systems, ensuring a secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure. Working closely with development teams, you'll implement automation, improve efficiency, and contribute to the ongoing modernisation of the university's IT landscape.

Key Focus Areas

  • Operate and enhance Kubernetes clusters and container platforms
  • Manage Linux (Red Hat) systems and OpenLDAP directories
  • Support MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle databases
  • Maintain web environments such as WordPress, Adobe AEM, and LAMP stacks
  • Automate operations with Bash, Perl, or Python
  • Apply Infrastructure-as-Code and DevOps practices

Your Profile

  • Completed education or degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience as a Linux System Engineer/Administrator, ideally in a Red Hat environment.
  • Proven expertise in Kubernetes and container technologies.
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, DevOps, and agile working practices.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (Bash, Perl, Python).
  • Analytical, structured, and solution-oriented mindset.
  • High sense of responsibility, ownership, and customer focus.
  • Fluent in German and English, both spoken and written.
