For one of our clients, a financial services company based in Geneva, we are looking for a:

LEGAL ASSOCIATE
Job Description

  • Support the Head of Legal with drafting, reviewing, and formatting legal documents, memoranda, and correspondence.
  • Conduct preliminary reviews of contracts such as NDAs, distribution and referral agreements, and agreements linked to structured products.
  • Manage client onboarding documentation and ensure timely coordination with internal teams.
  • Maintain the firm's contract management system and oversee the full contract lifecycle (expiry, renewals, signatures, version control).
  • Assist with corporate governance, including preparation of board and committee documentation, resolutions, shareholder records, and filings with Swiss or foreign registries.
  • Monitor regulatory developments (FinSA, FinIA, AMLA, DFSA, MiFID II) and assist in preparing reports, licence applications, and documentation for FINMA or other authorities.
  • Support inspections, audits, and KYC processes with banks and counterparties.
  • Coordinate with external counsel (domestic and international), manage legal fees, and assess deliverables.
  • Contribute to HR matters by drafting termination letters and assisting with resignations or dismissals.
  • Conduct legal and regulatory research, prepare comparative analyses across jurisdictions, and support risk assessments for new markets, products, and counterparties.
  • Draft and update internal legal and compliance procedures, including training programmes.
  • Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism in all legal and corporate communications.

Required Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Law, or a related field; a Swiss specialisation certificate, LL.M., or Paralegal certification is an asset.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a legal associate, legal junior, or corporate legal support role, ideally within the financial sector.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and discretion.
  • Fluent in French and English; Spanish is a plus.
