We are looking for a driven and technically skilled Computer Vision Specialist to support the development of a camera-based detection and counting system for industrial aluminum profiles. This is a hands-on project with tangible impact combining data acquisition, model training, and real-world deployment into one cohesive Proof of Concept.

You will take a lead role in designing and implementing a robust CV pipeline, from dataset generation to on-site system testing. You'll work closely with a small, focused team to deliver a scalable, efficient, and accurate solution.

Key responsibilities:

  • Technology scouting & pipeline design: Evaluate state-of-the-art CV frameworks and design the architecture for a detection pipeline. Decide on cloud vs. on-premise deployment strategies.
  • Model development & training: Build and iteratively train a deep learning model for profile recognition, including performance tuning, validation, and benchmarking.
  • System integration & live testing: Set up a functional test system and connect the trained model to real-time image input for on-site testing and evaluation.

Requirements
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or related technical fields.
  • Strong practical experience in Computer Vision, including model development, image processing, and pipeline design.
  • Hands-on skills in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or OpenCV.
  • Comfortable working independently, with a strong sense of ownership and technical rigor.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German
