Job Description

Sika has recently introduced a new data organization structure built on the mesh concept This strategic move aims to strengthen data ownership, enhance agility, and foster innovation throughout the organization.

As a Data Engineering Intern, you will join a dynamic and agile Marketing domain team dedicated to transforming data from multiple sources (e.g., Salesforce, Pardot, Google, Sprinklr, etc.) into valuable data products.

This role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with global business stakeholders, providing hands-on experience in the field.

  • Transform data into valuable insights that inform business decisions, making use of our internal data platforms
  • Develop New Data Pipelines: Design and implement efficient pipelines for integrating new data sources.
  • Engineer Machine Learning Models: Develop, train and apply machine learning initiatives to solve complex business problems
  • Ensure Data Quality: Implement measures and tools to monitor and enhance data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  • Assist in creation of a scalable Data Product Lifecycle: Assist in creating a robust and sustainable framework for managing the lifecycle of data products.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Basic programming skills in Python or any other programming language
  • Knowledge of data mesh concepts and their practical applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proactive and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of machine learning pipelines is a plus
