Business Controlling Manager Switzerland (m/w/x)

Role Description

The Business Controlling Manager is responsible for steering the financial performance and strategic planning of business operations in Switzerland. This role plays a central part in ensuring financial transparency, driving profitability, and supporting management decisions with accurate insights and forward-looking analysis. As a key member of the finance and leadership team, the Business Controlling Manager acts as a strategic partner to management, providing reliable financial planning, analysis, and reporting that strengthen business growth and sustainability.

Core responsibilities include leading financial planning and forecasting processes, monitoring key performance indicators, and ensuring compliance with internal and external financial standards. The role oversees budgeting cycles, variance analyses, and the development of actionable recommendations to optimize financial performance. The Business Controlling Manager also ensures the accuracy and consistency of financial reporting, coordinating with accounting, operations, and leadership teams to align financial goals with business strategy.

Beyond day-to-day controlling activities, the position contributes to strategic decision-making by analyzing market trends, evaluating investments, and identifying opportunities for cost efficiency and revenue growth. The Business Controlling Manager plays an active role in supporting transformation projects, implementing financial systems, and enhancing business processes. Precision, analytical thinking, and a strong understanding of financial principles are key to success in this role.

Qualifications

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial controlling, budgeting, and performance management principles.
  • Proficiency in financial planning tools, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and advanced Excel modeling.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities to interact with stakeholders across departments and senior management.
  • Solid understanding of Swiss financial regulations, corporate governance, and reporting standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, ensure data accuracy, and maintain high attention to detail.
  • Strategic mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process optimization.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of German or French is considered an advantage.
