Junior International Market Consultant

Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE) is the official Swiss organization for export and investment promotion. With a unique global network, S-GE supports more than 5,500 Swiss companies every year in their international business and helps innovative foreign companies on their way to settling in Switzerland. In this respect, S-GE has acted on behalf of the Swiss Confederation and cantons since 1927 to ensure strength in the country's foreign trade and prosperity in Switzerland. As a private consulting and platform organization working on behalf of the Confederation and the cantons with around 200 employees and more than 3,000 partners worldwide, S-GE supports its customers with their international business development in more than 130 countries each year. S-GE has its own teams (Swiss Business Hubs, SBHs) in approximately 45 countries. The Swiss Business Hubs are integrated into the diplomatic missions of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA).

Junior International Market Consultant (60-80%)

Your Tasks

As Junior International Market Consultant, you will support Swiss companies—particularly from Southern Switzerland—in accessing and expanding into international markets.

You will provide market intelligence, internationalization know-how, and tailored business development strategies that strengthen S-GE's position as a trusted partner and platform for Swiss SMEs exploring opportunities in the region.

• Conduct in-depth research on international markets, industry sectors, and competitive landscapes to identify business opportunities.
• Support Swiss companies in defining market entry strategies, business models, and go-to-market approaches tailored to the international markets.
• Assist in opportunity scouting by identifying local partners, clients, and networks that can accelerate market access.
• Collaborate with Swiss senior consultants in the acquisition and implementation of internationalization projects.
• Participate in business missions, trade fairs, and industry events to strengthen the organization's network across the international markets.
• Provide ongoing support to Swiss companies, ensuring smooth communication and professional project follow-up.
• Leverage digital platforms and AI-based solutions to enhance consulting services and knowledge sharing.
• Coordinate project implementation in close collaboration with S-GE experts and partners abroad or in Switzerland, such as Swiss Business Hubs (S-GE offices at Swiss Embassies), Swiss Embassies, and bilateral Chambers of Commerce.
• Serve as Relationship Manager and first point of contact for assigned clients, with the objective of strengthening and expanding existing business activities.

Your Profile

• Completed a university or higher technical education degree (e.g., ETH, HES-SO) in business development, economics or equivalent industrial–commercial experience
• 3 years of experience in international business consulting, trade promotion, or equivalent.
• A background in industrial sectors (e.g., manufacturing, advanced machinery, medtech, cleantech, or related industries) is strongly preferred.
• Good knowledge of APAC markets, with practical understanding of business culture and regional dynamics is strongly preferred
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management capabilities.
• Proficiency in Italian (native speaker) and excellent command of English (C1) and German (B2), French is an advantage
• Strong communication skills, intercultural awareness, and proven networking ability.
• Proactive, collaborative, and client-oriented mindset.
• Solid command of digital tools and the Microsoft Office suite, CRM (Dynamics 365)
• Knowledge of AI tools and/or experience in content creation (articles, reports, communication materials) is a strong advantage.
