Python developer for transmission line modeling

Join us in developing a modular Python-based tool to model transmission lines and calculate key parameters across varying electrical zones.

You will:
  • Implement the Telegraph Equation model for UGC and OHL sections
  • Develop functions for impedance, admittance, and signal propagation
  • Derive OHL parameters from literature and integrate with Cableizer software
  • Validate simulation results against IEC/CIGRE standards
  • Create visual outputs with Matplotlib (e.g. voltage, power plots)
  • Store, manage and retrieve data with PostgreSQL and JSON
  • Contribute to documentation and code delivery on GitHub


Requirements
  • Knowledge of power systems, cable modeling, and signal transmission
  • Strong Python skills (object-oriented programming, NumPy, JSON, Git)
  • Advanced studies in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • Experience in data storage (PostgreSQL), error handling, and integration testing
  • Knowledge of IEC/CIGRE standards is a plus
  • Independent, analytical, and proactive mindset
  • Fluent in English (or German)
