Responsibilities
Hexagon's Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division (Hexagon) is seeking a Principal Sales Support Consultant.
As a key member of our Regional Support Team, you will serve as the first line of support for Salesforce users - providing hands-on technical assistance, delivering role-based training, ensuring data integrity, and driving user adoption of system processes and enhancements. You'll play a critical role in aligning business needs with system capabilities, maintaining operational excellence, and enabling our sales teams to work efficiently and effectively across the globe.
User Support & Troubleshooting
- Serve as the first point of contact for Salesforce users across the region.
- Create and manage user accounts, roles, and permissions.
- Provide Tier 1 support for common user issues (e.g., login problems, data errors, broken records).
- Troubleshoot system errors including validation rule issues, misconfigured layouts, and missing data.
- Escalate complex issues to Tier 2 support or system admins as needed.
- Prioritize and triage support tickets based on urgency and business impact.
- Proactively communicate issue status and resolutions to users.
- Respond to all support cases within the same business day; follow closure protocols if no response is received within 7 days.
Long Description
Training & Enablement
- Conduct role-based onboarding sessions for new users.
- Host live drop-in and "just-in-time" training sessions, especially during major process changes or rollouts.
- Provide quarterly refresher "office hours" to address common questions and system updates.
- Keep users informed of system changes, enhancements, or newly released features.
- Support user self-sufficiency through coaching on Salesforce capabilities.
System Maintenance & Data Hygiene
- Monitor and maintain Salesforce data integrity by identifying and correcting duplicate, outdated, or incomplete records.
- Deactivate inactive users and enforce proper user permission standards.
- Ensure system usage compliance and consistent application of best practices.
Process & Workflow Support
- Guide users through standardized Salesforce processes (e.g., lead management, opportunity stages, service workflows).
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand operational pain points and align system workflows with business needs.
- Ensure documented workflows are followed and that deviations are reviewed and corrected.
Long Description
Change Management & Release Support
- Test new features, fields, objects, and reports in sandbox environments before production release.
- Support QA and Regression testing, and feedback collection.
- Collaborate with product owners, developers, and admins during release cycles.
- Promote adoption of new functionality and follow up on usage trends and user satisfaction.
- Document and communicate release notes, updates, and known issues to the field.
Reporting & Dashboard Support
- Build, troubleshoot, and maintain user-friendly reports and dashboards.
- Validate reporting logic and filters to ensure accurate, decision-supporting data.
- Educate users on self-service reporting tools and data analysis best practices.
What We Expect
- Conduct monthly check-ins with newly created users (individual or team-based).
- Host quarterly field calls segmented by user persona to share updates and address recurring issues.
- Participate in testing rotations during deployment and configuration cycles.
- Maintain and regularly update the "Regional Administrative Guide" or "Bible".
- Communicate team-level updates including PTO coverage and general reminders.
- Be available for occasional weekend or after-hours support as needed.
Education / Qualifications
We are seeking a highly motivated and service-oriented individual with a strong background in sales operations, technical support, or business systems consulting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Proven experience in sales support, Salesforce administration, or technical customer service within a corporate environment.
- In-depth knowledge of Salesforce, with Admin certification or equivalent experience, is strongly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages (e.g., Spanish, German, Portuguese) is a plus.
- A proactive, customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to service excellence.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
- Experience with system data maintenance, user training, report/dashboard creation, and release testing.
- Familiarity with asset lifecycle management, engineering, or AEC industries is a plus.
- A growth-oriented attitude with a willingness to continuously learn and contribute to process improvements.
- Confidence in delivering onboarding, just-in-time, and refresher training to users of varying technical proficiency.
