Level 5Job Description Summary
Location: Basel, Switzerland#LI-Hybrid
The Associate Director, HCS&P, architects the external conditions for commercial success by converting healthcare system barriers into evidence-based solutions and frameworks, championed by key opinion leaders and medical societies. This role operates at the intersection of health policy, clinical evidence, and stakeholder engagement—identifying critical structural barriers that prevent Pluvicto/RLT adoption and mobilizing credible external stakeholders to champion solutions onto public healthcare system agendas.
Working in partnership with the Policy and corporate affair, Global Medical Affairs, International Medical Affairs, and Value & Access teams, the incumbent drives system-level changes—national investment in RLT capacity, standardized referral pathways, and outpatient treatment protocols—that unlock RLT full commercial potential across international markets.
Job Description
Major Accountabilities:
Identify critical healthcare system barriers blocking Pluvicto/RLT adoption across international markets, including infrastructure gaps, outdated radiosafety regulations, unclear referral pathways, and capacity constraints that prevent commercial scale.
Mobilize and engage credible external stakeholders—medical societies (ESMO, regional oncology associations), key opinion leaders—to co-develop evidence-based recommendations and solutions that address system-level barriers.
Lead the development of high-impact evidence through white papers, publications, and consensus guidelines on critical topics including referral pathway standardization, radiosafety and patient discharge protocols, and human radioactive waste management—positioning these issues for action.
Partner with the Policy RLT team to enable stakeholders to elevate healthcare system barriers onto public policy agendas, driving system-level changes such as national capacity investment, treatment center infrastructure development, and outpatient protocol adoption.
Collaborate with country teams to understand market-specific priorities, co-design proof-of-concept projects, capture insights from local experiences, and share best practices across international markets to accelerate solution adoption.
Partner with the International RLT Account & Ecosystem Director to translate healthcare system insights into local and center-level barriers and opportunities, ensuring system-level changes enable treatment center expansion and optimization.
Work closely with Global Medical Affairs (GMA), International Medical Affairs (IMA), and Access teams to ensure evidence development aligns with RLT HCS strategy.
Measure impact by tracking healthcare system readiness improvements at country level—including policy adoptions, capacity, guideline changes, and stakeholder endorsements—that remove barriers and enable commercial growth (HCS scorecard).
Present strategic insights and impact recommendations to senior leaders, including the Commercial Leadership Team, Country Presidents, regional heads, and country Therapeutic Area leads, demonstrating how healthcare system transformation unlocks revenue potential.
Essential Requirements:
5+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience with demonstrated expertise in healthcare system projects, health policy development, or market access strategy.
Proven experience working at the intersection of clinical evidence and health policy, with the ability to translate complex healthcare system challenges into actionable solutions and policy recommendations.
Strong background in oncology and RLT, with deep understanding of treatment pathways, healthcare delivery systems, and the structural barriers that impact patient access to innovative therapies.
Demonstrated success in engaging with senior external stakeholders, including medical societies, key opinion leaders, policy experts, and international health organizations.
Track record of evidence generation and thought leadership, including publications, white papers, or policy guidelines that have influenced healthcare system practices or policy decisions.
Experience working across international markets, with ability to understand diverse healthcare system architectures, regulatory environments, and policy-making processes.
Ability to operate in ambiguous, complex environments where success depends on influence rather than direct authority—building consensus among diverse stakeholders with competing priorities.
Desirable Requirements:
Leads through influence and credibility, mobilizing external stakeholders and internal cross-functional teams to drive shared outcomes without direct reporting relationships.
Demonstrates strategic thinking by identifying high-impact barriers and prioritizing efforts that create the greatest commercial and patient access impact across multiple markets.
Builds trust and credibility with senior external stakeholders (medical societies, KOLs, policy leaders) and internal partners, generating engagement and commitment to co-create solutions.
Communicates complex healthcare system challenges and solutions clearly and compellingly to diverse audiences, including senior leaders, clinical experts, and policy decision-makers.
Navigates complex organizational dynamics and matrix structures, partnering effectively with Policy, Medical Affairs, Access, Treatment Center, and country teams to align on priorities and execution.
Operates with enterprise mindset, balancing global strategic priorities with country-specific needs to drive system-level change that enables commercial success.
Thinks systemically about healthcare transformation, understanding how policy, clinical practice, infrastructure investment, and stakeholder alignment must work together to unlock patient access.
