For our client, a leading IT service provider in Switzerland, we are looking for an IT Automation Engineer specializing in Kubernetes / Openshift for a permanent position.

Working locations: Spreitenbach AG, Tagelswangen ZH or Reinach BL

Your responsibilities:

  • As an Automation Engineer, you are an important part of the still young Automation & Monitoring team and are responsible for the design and implementation of automated IT processes in the data center.
  • In customer projects, you will support the setup, further development and operation of container and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes / Openshift)
  • You are the contact person for customers and help to plan and implement modern container and orchestration architectures.
  • For smaller projects, you work independently or are called upon to work on larger projects together with the team.
  • You work closely with experts from other departments.
  • As we expand our department, we rely on your expertise and you can actively influence its development.
  • Contributing to the design of solutions & services for the company
  • The customer and their added value are your top priority in your work.

Your profile:

  • You have completed vocational training in computer science or equivalent education or training.
  • Extensive experience in the construction, operation and further development of container and orchestration platforms
  • Practical knowledge of handling containers, deployment pipelines, and common orchestration tools.
  • Experience in several of the following areas: Linux basics, virtualization, monitoring, log analysis, backup and storage solutions, IT process automation
  • You are familiar with Python.
  • You have a service-oriented mindset and enjoy teamwork.
  • You enjoy interacting with customers.
  • You are interested in education and training and are willing to familiarize yourself with new areas.
  • Thinking outside the box inspires you
  • German and English, both spoken and written, are no problem.
  • You can also independently implement projects at a high level.
  • You have a category B driving licence and are flexible regarding our deployment locations in German-speaking Switzerland.
