Senior Exposure Manager

About the role

You will be reporting to the Head of Risk Analytics and be part of a knowledgeable team. You are responsible for leading the analysis and management of the company's exposure to reinsurance risks across all non-catastrophe portfolios. You will ensure that the company builds and maintains a clear, accurate, and forward-looking understanding of its aggregate risk positions, driving informed underwriting, capital, and reinsurance decisions.

You will also provide strategic insights into non-catastrophe and accumulative exposures, ensuring the company operates within its defined risk appetite while supporting profitable and sustainable growth.

Your responsibilities

• Lead identification, measurement, and monitoring of exposure accumulations across non-catastrophe lines (financial lines, casualty, cyber, agriculture).
• Develop and maintain aggregation frameworks aligned with risk appetite and underwriting guidelines.
• Assess potential clash and systemic risk scenarios and communicate implications to senior management.
• Ensure quality and consistency of exposure data across systems; collaborate with IT and data teams to improve capture, modeling, and analytics tools.
• Produce dashboards and reports to support underwriting, portfolio management, and regulatory needs.
• Provide insight into portfolio composition, accumulation trends, and diversification opportunities.
• Support pricing, capital modeling, and risk management with exposure inputs and stress testing.
• Maintain and enhance exposure management policies and controls; ensure compliance with governance and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, risk, and reinsurance teams; mentor junior colleagues and represent exposure management internally and externally.

Your profile

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or analytical field (Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science).
• Extensive experience in exposure management, risk aggregation, and developing/validating risk models across diverse re/insurance lines.
• Master's degree or postgraduate qualification preferred.
• Professional certifications such as CII, CPCU, actuarial credentials (ACAS/FCAS/FIA/FSA), or GIS/Data Science (ESRI, Python, R, SQL) are desirable.
• 10+ years of relevant re/insurance industry experience in exposure and data management roles.
• Proven ability to handle large exposure-based datasets across multiple business segments.
• Strong understanding of reinsurance structures for all product types.
