The Role

We are looking for a highly driven
M&A Intern or Working Student
to join our growing team. As an aspiring professional at HCP, you will play an integral role across all phases of transaction execution and origination – from financial analysis and valuation to client communication and deal structuring. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with senior partners and gain significant exposure to cross-border M&A and fundraising transactions involving strategic acquirers, family offices, and leading private equity/venture capital firms.

Your Responsibilities

  • Assist in and contribute to financial models, valuation analyses (DCF, LBO, trading/transaction comps), and business plans
  • Prepare and present investment materials, pitch decks, CIMs, teasers, and board presentations
  • Conduct market mapping, competitor benchmarking, and commercial due diligence
  • Drive due diligence workstreams and coordinate with legal, tax, and technical advisors
  • Review and supervise the work of interns and analysts, ensuring accuracy and consistency
  • Actively support deal origination and sector coverage efforts in our key geographies
  • Engage directly with clients, investors, and senior stakeholders

Your Profile

  • Previous relevant experience in M&A, investment banking, private equity, or a strategy/transaction advisory role
  • Strong technical skills in corporate finance, valuation, and financial modelling
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to produce client-ready materials
  • Fluent in English and in
    German
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from a leading university (Finance, Economics, Engineering, or similar)
