Doctoral Student On Evidence-informed Policies

**Project background**:
Methodological and technological progress in measuring the impact of policies has greatly improved the quality and amount of data available for designing effective policies to reduce global poverty and inequalities. Yet, many policymakers and practitioners often do not systematically use available evidence to address policy problems. Recent research has shown that low uptake of scientific evidence for policymaking is also (even if not solely) linked to decision-making biases, lack of statistical training, mistrust in science, and data presentation formats. In this research project, we want to leverage insights from the learning sciences, decision making sciences, and development economics to create new knowledge and tools that support policymakers around the world to use scientific evidence for policymaking.
