Your mission at Climeworks is to lead the Testing Laboratory of Climeworks, with the ultimate objective of conducting and supporting high quality (on time and accurate) and safe laboratory tests.
- You lead and support key activities of the laboratory team

a.) Lab management (overseeing daily operations, developing, and implementing lab policies and procedures).

b.) Lab safety (enforcing safety protocols and ensuring adherence with the help of HSSE.

c.) Experiment execution and troubleshooting related to analytical devices required in the field of DAC such as gas physisorption, Hg porosimetry, breakthrough analysis, GC/MS).

d.) Analytical device validation, maintenance & calibration.

e.) Chemical management (overseeing procurement, storage, disposal of chemicals, maintaining chemical inventory).

f.) Laboratory infrastructure management and expansion planning.
- You manage and develop the team:
a.) Recruit, train, and mentor laboratory staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages innovation and excellence.

b.) Conduct performance evaluations and support the professional development of lab members.

c.) Facilitate communication and team meetings to keep all members aligned with current projects and initiatives.
- You are responsible for efficient Stakeholder Communication:
a.) Prepare and present reports on laboratory testing outcomes, insights, and improvements to testing unit and other relevant departments as needed.
- You oversee Resource Management:
a. ) Manage the laboratory’s budget, optimizing the allocation of funds for equipment, supplies, and personnel.

b.) Prepare financial reports and forecasts for laboratory expenditures and justify budget requests to support the lab’s strategic initiatives.
- You hold a bachelor's degree in a scientific field including substantial hands-on experience in the laboratory. (preferably analytical chemistry, industrial chemistry, material sciences or similar).
- You completed certifications in laboratory safety and quality management systems.
- You have proven experience in laboratory management, including overseeing staff, managing complex projects, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- You demonstrated the ability to develop and optimize lab procedures and protocols.
- You possess a strong background in conducting and overseeing laboratory experiments and data analysis using various analytical devices for the characterization of materials (especially gas physisorption, Hg porosimetry, breakthrough analysis, GC/MS).
- You have expertise in chemical management, lab safety protocols, and maintaining compliance with environmental regulations.
- You can lead and motivate a diverse team, fostering an environment of collaboration and continuous improvement. You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively managing stakeholder relationships and leading change.
