The Department of Epidemiology and Public Health (EPH) investigates distribution and causes of infections and non-communicable diseases. To understand and promote the well-being of people in different cultural and environmental contexts, EPH applies various methods ranging from anthropology and social science to biostatistics and mathematical modelling as well as observational cohorts with biobanks.

The Systems Innovation Research Group within the EPH Department applies systems thinking approaches to health systems, shaping the way policymakers, managers, researchers, and practitioners approach health system challenges.

**Your position**

This position provides an opportunity to work as part of a multicultural, dedicated team in an academic and applied research environment. This role will contribute to and beyond health systems modeling, supporting decision-making and policy planning at local and international levels.

**Your various responsibilities include**:

- Contribute to developing models for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) using Stella Architect
- Lead model adaptation, including data collection, calibration, validation, and documentation
- Prepare key deliverables such as simulation outputs, data visualizations, and manuscripts
- Support capacity building by providing training and guidance to partners and stakeholders
- Maintain clear and organized documentation of work processes, findings, and project outputs

**Your profile**

**You should have the following experience and skills**:

- Master's degree, or equivalent professional experience, in system dynamics, and/or data science, or a related field
- Experience in system dynamics modeling in Stella is essential; familiarity with participatory approaches is an advantage
- Strong analytical skills and a methodical approach to data management and analysis. Familiarity with other data analytics skills, such as intervention impact and risk factors analysis, or spatial epidemiology, is an advantage
- High-level organizational and time management skills in managing input from multiple stakeholders
- High proficiency in spoken and written English. Proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, or Arabic is an advantage
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, with ability to foster an inclusive workplace culture that values collaboration, diversity of thought, and cultural competency
