Oper currently has offices in Zürich, Switzerland, and Antwerp, Belgium.

Tasks

You will mainly work directly with our VP of Finance and support her on day-to-day tasks as well as on larger projects.

What you will do
- Support the core operational processes of our business, including weekly/monthly/quarterly business review cadence
- Work together with our outsourced accounting teams and support them in the monthly and yearly closings
- Prepare the monthly P&L and consolidation based on data provided by accountants
- Streamline and manage our expense management software (Spendesk)
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable workflows, including invoice processing, procurement requests, and vendor/contractor payments
- Actively challenge and optimize our accounting and reporting processes with a focus on automation.
- Assess opportunities to bring certain accounting functions in-house to align with our strategic goals
- Serve as a resource for employees on payment inquiries, invoice processing, and expense management tools
- Ad hoc financial and operational projects as needed to support the VP of Finance and other leadership team members

- Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, preferably with a focus on Accounting.
- Previous internships or work experience in accounting, finance, or business operations are highly valued.
- Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving start-up environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Strong teamwork, communication (both verbal and written), and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Exceptional ability to manage multiple competing priorities, with a keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills.
- An entrepreneurial spirit and mindset, with an openness to dynamic change.
- Data-driven, curious, and an effective problem-solver.
