**Your mission**
To strengthen our R&D Department at our Headquarter in Reinach/BL, Switzerland, we are currently looking for a highly motivated and hands-on
**Research Assistant / 100%**
Your mission is to characterize newly developed strain. You will be working closely together with the scientists within the team, strain engineers and analytical chemists.
Your Tasks:
- Preparation, set-up, monitor and control bench-scale bioreactors (2 to 5L)
- Preparation of stocks of reagents & media
- Off-line analysis of fermentation samples using among others spectrophotometer, HPLC, GC and pH meter
- Analyze and organize fermentation data, and summarize key results
- Responsible for quality of results in accordance with laboratory protocols
- Perform safety and maintenance checks on equipment
- Always keep lab areas clean and orderly
- Keep inventory of lab supplies and chemicals and keep them stocked by placing purchase orders
- Occasional weekend work required
**Your profile**
**Your profile**:
- B.S. degree in biology, microbiology, biochemistry, biochemical engineering, chemical engineering, or related discipline with a minimum of one-year experience in a research lab setting
- Ability and desire to execute experimental plans independently
- Knowledge of good laboratory practices
- Fluent in written and spoken English, any other language an asset
- Must be organized and able to maintain accurate and timely records
- Flexible, ready to adapt quickly as company priorities change
- Experience in the fermentation field as well as hands-on experience in aseptic handing of microorganisms will be a strong advantage
- Knowledge of analytical methods, such as GC and HPLC, is an advantage
