Our client in canton Zürich is creating a new R&D Team to be part of their existing Global R&D Division. To help lead this new team forward they are seeking a senior Electronic Architect to bring ideas to life.

Main Responsibilities
- Collaborate with our global R&D team, with sub-teams in Germany, China, the USA and a network of external partners. You will shape the new sub-team in Switzerland.
- Develop system architectures for our terminals. The electrical concepts should comply with all requirements, be scalable and extendable. Develop modular designs, with components, which can be re-used for future terminal developments. Align the system architectures well with our terminal technology roadmap.
- Take technical leadership in electrical system architecture topics, in close collaboration with the other global sub-teams.
- Work on all layers of MT‘s technology stack to provide a solution, which is perfectly integrated from the sensor, over the edge to the cloud.
- Design for component availability and take care, that good decisions are made in the current chip crisis.
- Provide solutions, which are ready to integrate into the industrial internet of things (IIoT).
- Guide teams on the end-to-end project lifecycle, covering the initial conception, business requirements, system architecture, technical lead, coaching, and flawless delivery.
- Provide technological and architectural consulting to our stakeholders, give technical recommendations, and advise on their execution.
- Work on proof-of-concept and the design of innovative solutions, with an emphasis on scalability, modularity, flexibility, and performance.
- Run group-wide thought leadership initiatives to advance our architectural practice and sustain our technical excellence.
- Work closely with your cooperation partners, who are product managers, dedicated requirements engineers, test-automation-teams and embedded software development teams as well as DevOps.
**Main Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Physics or equivalent
- Experience in designing electrical control devices
- Experience in PCB design, e.g. with MentorGraphics. Use of collaborative tools, such as Teamcenter.
- Excellent knowledge of embedded systems and processor architectures
- Excellent knowledge in electronic signal processing for high-performance measurement instrumentation
- Excellent knowledge in low-level data communication protocols and protocols for IIoT solutions, such as OPC-UA and MQTT
- Good knowledge in low-level software development, as connected to the electronics architecture and system scalability. Use of tools, such as IAR Systems
- Knowledge in low-power electronics, low-noise system design or Ex product design is a plus
- Strong knowledge of best practices and tooling for CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, agile methods (SAFe, Scrum), automated testing, code quality, such as VSTS, Selenium / Gherkin, Artifactory
- Experience in monitoring, troubleshooting and profiling systems
- Experience in electronic platform design and development within international projects
- Experience with cloud services (Azure, AWS, etc.) and IIoT is a plus
- A passion for clean PCBs and pragmatic, elegant design for industrial devices.
- Enthusiasm, creativity, flexibility, team spirit, and general awesomeness in electrical engineering
- Fluent in English, German language skills are a big plus
