About the team you are joining
You will be joining the Information and Data Division (I&D), reporting to the Senior Manager Business Intelligence, the Manager Power BI Governance. You will be responsible for managing the governance framework around IATA’s Power BI environment as well as acting as the main platform administrator and standards keeper. The role will work closely with IATA Data Security and IT Security teams to ensure IATA’s data assets on Power BI are kept safe and in line with our policies. Additional responsibilities include managing the Power BI environment, supporting the business to implement reporting use cases, training and end-user support and tasks around Power BI governance, access management and monitoring.
What your day would be like
Manage the Power BI governance framework including - establishing and enforcing security rules and policies, securing the platform and reports, contribute to the definition and implementation of data classification and retention policies and others.
Administer the platform including - Power BI tenant configuration, capacity settings, and licensing, monitoring platform usage, performance, and adoption metrics to identify and resolve issues and maintain system health and optimize platform scalability and reliability.
Prepare, update, and enforce Power BI development guidelines.
Take responsibility for the design, development, and maintenance of Power BI content and integrations to ensure seamless data access and reporting, working closely with internal users and external partners.
Drive architecture, configuration, administration, and functional enhancements of the Power BI environment to maximize its capabilities and reduce cost.
Organize and run IATA Power BI user community focusing on user outreach, best practice dissemination, training, and platform evolution.
Monitor and optimize Power BI performance, including SQL optimization and providing recommendations for improvement.
Develop and conduct specific training sessions for business users and owners of Power BI workspaces and reports focusing on risk management, security practices, and responsible data handling as well as best practices for PBI development.
Implement and maintain data security measures in Power BI, including role-based access controls and compliance with regulatory requirements, to protect sensitive data.

Bachelor's or master’s degree in a technical field.
5+ years of Power BI development and administration experience.
Proficiency with SQL for data analysis and transformation.
Experience with analytical data modelling techniques.
Practical experience with data warehouses, data lakes, and cloud architecture, and data gateway.
High degree of independence, initiative, flexibility, responsibility, and reliability in managing tasks and projects.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to effectively engage with technical and business teams.
Strong knowledge of data security best practices and compliance regulations, with the ability to implement robust security measures to protect data assets in close alignment with IATA’s security teams.
