Product Development Scientist

You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of iconic fragrances, while working alongside a world-renowned team at Coty, a leader in the fragrance industry. As a Scientist in our Fragrance Product Development team will take part of the planning and execution of a broad range of technical tasks, propose and put your own observations to test. Your curiosity and scientific knowledge will lead you to innovate and conduct proof of concept based on your experience. RESPONSIBILITIES As a Scientist, you are responsible for performing critical delivery, execution, and experimental work of day-to-day R&D projects, including generating and analysing data. Deliver sustained contributions that result in new and improved products, operations and capabilities. Your work is typically "hands on," in a lab, pilot plant and TPMs. Develop formulas based upon R&D briefs received from Marketing or due to Regulatory Reformulations Work with supervision to design experiments and schedule project activities. Able to accurately prepare laboratory batches, color matching juices, conduct stability testing and perform analysis on stability results. Able to guide Lab technician on preparing laboratory batches and stability readings. Initiate and record all other formula testing, including microbiological, safety and claims testing. Responsible of the scale up of the new formulas and piloting in the factories, discuss with the right people to get the right support. Assist in developing solutions to a wide range of complex problems that require ingenuity and creativity. Utilize good judgement and makes timely, practical, and technically sound decisions. Update supervisor on Sr Manager on current projects on a regular basis. Disseminate all required formula information, including Batch Cards, Manufacturing Instructions, Specifications, Ingredient listing. Complete dossier documentation and raw material coding information. Communicate directly with individuals throughout the Coty organization to obtain or disseminate information on projects. Maintain excellent lab documentation of results, conclusion, and next steps. Develop technical capabilities outside the initiative environment that requires, creativity, innovation, analytical thinking. Look for resources and takes ownership of the deliverables agreed with the manager. Meet with raw material vendors to source novel ingredients. Comply with all Company policies and procedures, including confidentiality and good laboratory practices. Manage and execute multiple initiatives concurrently. Develop capabilities outside the initiative environment that support the R&D organization to lead the Luxury fragrance business with innovative, products, services, processes. Interface with other functions in the organization: GMKT, Initiative Management, Supply Chain, Procurement. All your team colleagues are focused on results and supporting each other’s to achieve their goals. YOU ARE A COTY FIT You enjoy formulation and working with fragrances, personal care products. As a Scientist, you have at least an entry level or min 2 years of experience, and you get energy from working in a fast-paced, diverse and international environment. Other than that, you: University degree in related science field or equivalent or Technical Vocation Degree with demonstrated experience. Fluency in English, any other language is a plus. Proficient in MS Office. Utilize good judgment and makes timely, practical, and technically sound decisions. Excellent analytical and product management skills. Demonstrate high-level of team spirit and willingness to be flexible and agile.
