**Your responsibilities**:
We search for a postdoctoral researcher to study the crosstalk between regulatory T cells (Tregs) and cell death. Activation of programmed cell death, such as extrinsic apoptosis or necroptosis, is an integral part of immune responses. It allows the removal of damaged or infected cells. However, the aberrant or uncontrolled induction of cell death can trigger severe tissue damage, leading to the development of autoinflammatory diseases. The immune system employs Tregs to suppress immune reactions against the host's tissue. Whether these potent immunosuppressive cells have evolved mechanisms to directly control the activation of highly proinflammatory cell death is currently unknown. The proposed research aims to elucidate whether the regulation of apoptosis and necroptosis by Tregs represents a core mechanism of immune tolerance.
