- The International Trade Centre (ITC) has a unique mandate within the United Nations system to promote and assist the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in developing countries, countries in transition and least developed countries to make better use of trade as a platform for growth, development and job creation. About the project: Among many global Trade Facilitation interventions, ITC implements the following projects: - The Makret Access Map (Markup II) The Market Access Upgrade Programme (MARKUP II) overall objective aims at contributing to the economic growth of the East African Community (EAC) region through private sector development and export promotion. MARKUP II will also contribute to the economic development of the EAC region within a broader pan-African perspective (under the Africa Trade Competitiveness and Market Access proposal - ACTMA), through increasing sustainable and inclusive intra-African trade and pan-Africa’s trade with the rest of the world, including the European Union (EU) and in creating decent jobs opportunities. MARKUP II will follow a common logical framework defined for the whole ACTMA pan-African programme, aiming at ensuring coherence between the geographical components. This consists of 2 specific objectives on (i) Market access and on (ii) Export competitiveness for MSMEs in target value chains. The programme will cover activities in Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda through the provisions of partnerships with national, regional and international institutions. Among other objectives, MARKUP II aims at strengthening MSMEs’ export competitiveness by enhancing value addition and diversification and by promoting business to the regional and international markets. One of the focus areas is to enhance risk management practices of non-custom border agencies and other stakeholders in the EAC region to optimise border controls and inspections on priority value chains for ease of exporting. To advance with this initiative, we are seeking an individual contractor to support the development of the training contents, ITC is seeking a Quality to consultant will review the training materials, bring corrections, provide technical and visual feedback, test the modules, and perform AI-based assessment developments on the Moodle based platform. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES The ITC seeks an Individual Contractor to support the development and production of e-learning modules, quality assurance processes, video production assistance, and AI-based assessment development under the overall supervision of the Senior Adviser on E-Learning, based in Geneva. The contractor must be fluent in English and possess intermediate Spanish language skills, capable of providing quality assurance for bilingual content when necessary. The Contractor will perform the following duties: A. E-Learning Module Development Support o Prepare documentation and files for front-end developers, reviewing scripts, identifying missing elements, advising on menu structures, content presentation, visual identity, and design. o Provide technical and visual feedback to external contractors developing e-learning content. o Perform simple visual adjustments (icons, headers) and advise on design templates. o Collaborate effectively with team members using Slack and Trello. - Video Production Assistance: o Assist the team with video script tasks and the production process. Regularly maintain and update production status via Trello boards. B. Quality Assurance & Publishing o Make minor edits to modules using Storyline, Rise, and HTML5, including translation adjustments (English-Spanish). o Conduct thorough quality assurance checks of scripts and video production. o Identify, document, and support the resolution of functional and visual issues across authoring platforms. o Manage client access to module review versions, coordinate feedback, and guide developers on final adjustments. o Publish completed modules onto a customized Moodle LMS (SCORM and HTML5 based). o Test module functionality post-upload. C. AI-Based Question Development & Quality Assurance o Create detailed reasoning and behavior descriptions for AI-generated assessment questions aligned with learning objectives. o Review and quality assure AI-based questions in English and Spanish (intermediate level). o Identify and report errors, hallucinations, inaccuracies, and ensure overall content accuracy.
