**Position Overview**:
This position is responsible for leading the contracting activities for PCH EMEA. The position serves as a strategic business partner to Catalent’s Business Development, Site Operations and Legal teams and will have a lead role in the development and execution of contracts with new and existing customers, ensuring that Catalent has excellent agreements in place across the PCH portfolio with business terms that represent both Catalent’s and our customer’s interests.
Responsibilities include overseeing the preparation of contractual documents, negotiating and interpreting customer contracts in accordance with company policies and legal requirements, providing guidance on complex agreements and deal structures, interacting with internal and external legal counsel in support of routine legal operations, maintaining an awareness of company business objectives and priorities and ensuring those are reflected in customer negotiations, analyzing and mitigating risk, maintaining accurate records.
**Responsibilities**:
- Leads the negotiation of complex, high-value contracts in partnership with Business Development, Legal, PCH sites and other functional leads to achieve timely deal closure and growth expectations.
- Responsible for tracking all contracts being negotiated for PCH.
- Mitigates risk through understanding of proposed terms and conditions and develops recommendations for contract language to meet business needs.
- Identify and communicate risk areas throughout the negotiation contract lifecycle and the renewal process. Escalate issues appropriately.
- Drive compliance with Legal, organizational and departmental policies and procedures with adherence to processes and business rules.
- Provides coaching and mentoring to others on the team and cross-functionally, including BD team members that are leading other contract negotiations.
- Provide ad-hoc support in negotiating complex pricing arrangements and resolving disputes when escalated, including drafting and formalizing resolution agreements such as settlements.
- Contribute to the continuous enhancement of customer satisfaction.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s or MSc degree.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical, medical device or food manufacturing, with experience in commercial operations, business management and/or business development
- Experience negotiating complex agreements with senior executive-level stakeholders or decision-makers is required
- Relevant industry knowledge of drug product development and/or consumer product development, analytical research and development, project scale-up, product manufacturing, quality, validations, and regulatory
- Analytical, financial skills, business acumen
- Superior customer services skills and professional demeanor
- Proficient in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts.
- Familiarity with risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Financial acumens.
- Fluent in English
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated, collaborative, action oriented.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
**Travel Requirements**:
- Some travel may be required (up to 20%).
