**PhD position in the research group of Professor Thomas Widmer 80 %**: Start of employment 01.02.2025, temporary

**Your responsibilities**:

- development and conduct your own PhD project in the professorship's field of research, namely research on policy making, implementation and evaluation (with a focus on Switzerland)
- participation in the department's doctoral program, which offers advanced methodological and substantive training as well as professional development
- contribution to the activities of the research group

**Your profile**:

- a MA/MSc in political science (or in a related discipline)
- strong interest in research on policy making, implementation and evaluation
- good knowledge of Swiss politics
- solid training in social science methods (preferably quantitative and qualitative)
- ability to work both independently and in a team
- very good working knowledge of German and English; knowledge of French and/or Italian is an asset
- integration in a leading department with highly motivated and engaged members within a collaborative and supporting working atmosphere
- opportunity to independently develop a dissertation project, supported by a dedicated supervisor
- conditional on approval of the PhD proposal by the end of the first year, funding is guaranteed for four years total, with a gross annual salary starting at CHF 50'000 approx. (gross salary)
