Die Forschungseinheit Waldressourcen und Waldmanagement erfasst und analysiert Zustände und Veränderungen der Wälder und arbeitet an Lösungen für eine effiziente Bereitstellung von Ökosystemleistungen. Für die Forschungsgruppe «Nachhaltige Forstwirtschaft» am Hauptsitz in Birmensdorf suchen wir ab

PostDoc in Forest Engineering und Optimierung 80 - 100% (w/m/d)

Im Rahmen des Projektes Edge «Enabling Decentralized renewable GEneration in the Swiss cities, midlands, and the Alps» suchen wir nach einem neuen Teammitglied, welches sich mit dem Biomassepotential der Schweizer Alpen beschäftigen möchte. Zunächst soll die aktuelle Verfügbarkeit abgeschätzt werden. Darauf aufbauend wird berechnet, wie sich dieses Potential vergrössert, wenn die Holzernteverfahren und die forstliche Erschliessung optimiert werden. Die jeweiligen Methoden liegen vor und sollen im Kontext des Projektes angewandt und ggf. weiterentwickelt werden.

Sie haben Forst-, Umwelt
- oder Naturwissenschaften studiert und kürzlich Ihr Promotionsstudium abgeschlossen. Sie haben gute Kenntnisse über die mitteleuropäische / alpine Waldbewirtschaftung, insbesondere im Fachbereich Engineering / Verfahrenstechnik, und haben sehr gute Programmierkenntnisse. Sie verfügen bereits über Erfahrung mit mathematischen Optimierungsmethoden und Sie sind motiviert, sich in neue Gebiete (z.B. räumliche Optimierung) einzuarbeiten. Zudem haben Sie Erfahrung im Anfertigen von wissenschaftlichen Publikationen.
