The team is responsible for a profitable portfolio of machine learning based trading models that we would like to enhance with your help and initiative. As markets accelerate, we rely more and more on models and analytics to enhance our trading processes. At the same time, we are unlocking the spectrum of insights that can be derived from our operational models and would like to grow these activities further. **What you will do**: - Interact with trading desks on a regular basis to directly support profit generation with your models - Design, implement and operate data centric use cases for trading activities in a professional cloud-based environment - Leverage state-of-the-art machine learning, optimization and simulation techniques to maximize business impact of use cases in core trading activities - Engage in insight creation using explainers, model-/data - and concept drift, causality concepts etc. - Translate Machine Learning insights into trading and market recommendations - Be part and actively collaborate with the company wide community of Advanced Analytics - Contribute to the internal promotion of advanced analytics to business stakeholders - Shape and develop the Advanced Analytics use case portfolio on a pan-European level **What you bring & who you are**: - Proven track record in data driven model development and deployment (>3-5 years of experience), ideally in a energy/commodity trading environment. - Master's degree in Data Science, Quant Finance, Engineering or equivalent - Ability to quickly prototype ideas / solutions, perform critical analysis and use creative but pragmatic approaches for solving complex tasks - Experience articulating business questions and using mathematical techniques to arrive at an answer using available data - Strong conceptual skills and able to interact with different audiences at different abstraction levels to democratize Advanced Analytics and their use in trading - Highly proficient in Python and with query languages such as SQL - Team player, open to collaborate and share know-how with a cross-divisional mindset **What we offer**: **Lifelong learning** Get off to a flying start with the induction programme at the Axpo Academy. You will be part of a dynamic and diverse team across Axpo Solutions that focuses on end-to-end implementation of high impact use cases across Europe and commodity desks. Regular contact with teams of traders, quantitative analysts as well as the management who is a strong supporter of the ML-based trading approach.
