**Global Carbon Project Lead (M/F/d)**

**PURPOSE**

The Global Carbon Project Manager will be committed towards assisting Bayer’s Carbon Team in achieving their environmental goals and Net-zero targets by leading and managing the company’s sustainability projects through implementation of best practices and programs to drive down value chain emissions as well as be able to assist with solving practical challenges to meet the climate targets.

The Carbon team at Bayer has the purpose of implementing the global carbon asset strategy including Offsets, Insets, Sustainability Product and Co benefit certifications aligned per the regional Ecosystem Business, that drive the development of carbon asset projects that are of high quality, cost effective and scalable.

**YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead the planning, coordination and implementation of carbon asset projects while working collaboratively with internal team as well as external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support and execute carbon asset projects and ensure their conformance with relevant standards and guidance.
- Be fully conversant with developments and trends in carbon markets, climate policies, value chain emissions, and carbon standards, methodologies, and protocols.
- Establish Bayer as a supplier of high-quality carbon assets and co benefits that meet buyers demands and the journey to net zero
- Manage the development of the global carbon asset projects for the success in quality, time and size aligned with the regional ecosystem business strategies
- Govern the Innovation selection and approval with standards of new tools to cost effectively scale carbon assets
- Establish Bayer as a thought leader in the journey to net zero through strategic engagement with global thought leaders, organizations and working groups
- Optimize the use of resources by quality planning & transparent resource allocation to projects
- Establish a center of excellence in Carbon Markets and ensure global trainings and engagement of teams in regions & countries

**WHO YOU ARE**:

- Degree in relevant field (e.g. environmental science, agronomy, soil science, agricultural & biological systems engineering, business)
- Proven knowledge or experience with carbon/climate related topics such as carbon markets, voluntary carbon market standards, protocols, and methodologies
- Technical expertise on carbon credits, standards and project development cycle (nature based solutions including removals & avoidance) in alignment with the evolving SBTi journey to net zero
- Advanced project management training and experience in managing Global Projects across functional matrixes
- Experience working effectively with multicultural, international, and multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication & influencing skills
- Strong organization and prioritization skills that sets clear objectives and tracks execution
- Lead change, with a mindset to think outside the box
- Thrive in a culture of innovation
- Develop people across functional boundaries and expand core competencies across the sustainability discipline
