Team Leader Stress Rotorheads

As part of Leonardo, Kopter currently develops the AW09, a next generation single-engine helicopter that offers the largest cabin and cargo hold in its category, increased modularity and modern electronic systems. The AW09 delivers latest safety standards as well as more performance and comfort at low operating costs.
Kopter is set to become Leonardo’s Centre of Excellence for new light helicopters and an incubator of new technologies, contributing to the development of hybrid and electrical propulsion systems. Kopter’s 320 talented team members are primarily based in Switzerland, near Zurich and in Mollis (Canton of Glarus).
**Responsibilities**:
- Management and technical lead of the stress team; in charge of the structural analysis of rotorheads and flight controls in accordance with aerospace analysis methodologies and the applicable regulatory frameworks (EASA Part-21, J and CS27)
- Plans and coordinates all activities related to the analysis of rotorheads and flight controls such as concept studies, substantiation work, contribution to the elaboration of tests
- Leads static and fatigue strength analysis of the rotorheads and flight controls systems as part of the process of obtaining a prototype permit to flight or aircraft type certificate
- Actively participates in definition of material and structural tests
- Prepares work packages for external analysis suppliers. Manages assigned external subcontractors. Technical review of externalized work packages
- Follows and supports the flight test activities with focus on rotorheads and flight controls
- In collaboration with the Chief Engineer Rotorheads and Flight Controls, contributes to the continuous development of the team (recruiting, personal development, motivation)
- Ensures company schedule and milestones within their scope of work are maintained
Your qualifications & experience
- University degree in Aeronautical/Mechanical/Structural Engineering
- Minimum 5 years relevant aeronautical engineering experience
- Experience in leading teams (directly or technically) in an aircraft or helicopter development environment
- Working knowledge of EASA Part-21, J & G and CS27 regulation
- Must have experience in:
- Static strength analysis - Analytical and Fine element methods
- Material engineering
- Ability to work under pressure with a good sense of urgency
- English - verbal and written at minimum B2 level
