**Position Summary**

The Nestlé Product Technology Centre Coffee in Orbe is the leading Nestlé Coffee and Beverages Competence Centre that develops products and production processes to all Nestlé markets worldwide. They are the owners of the Science and Technology roadmaps for the Nestlé coffee & beverage category.

As an “**R&D Green Coffee Champion**”, you will drive and lead green coffee expertise in NPTC to inform category strategy, guide new product development and product renovation. You will also partner with Strategic Business Unit Operations, Procurement, NPTC Coffee Quality and Technical Competence Unit for global green coffee management, including sustainability initiatives. In this role, you will have a unique opportunity to lead the Global Green Coffee Network driving cross-business and cross-functional sharing of innovation and best practices.

**A Day in the Life of an R&D Green Coffee Champion**

We believe our passion for coffee should be at the heart of what we do, and we like to start our day with a team coffee we prepare and share together. Your day will be filled with discussions and tastings with our diverse, international team here in Switzerland and in our other R&D locations around the world.

In this role we will look to you to:

- Provide expert guidance on coffee selection and specifications to R&D projects
- Maintain a holistic view on green coffee quality through connections to NQCCs and factory network
- Lead Scientific Focus Area to drive exploration and scouting activities in green coffee
- Identify and evaluate external partners and commence collaborations
- Define knowledge & required expertise for current and future, including recommendations for external trainings and certifications and annual follow-ups
- Perform competence gap assessment for program teams
- Ensure executional support of product trials: procurement support for new/non-standard origins, inventory management for green coffee, OPEX tracking for spend, participation in internal sensory panel for green coffee release

**What will make you successful**
- Bachelor or Master in Life Sciences or Agronomy, alternatively food science with strong agricultural or agronomy orientation
- Strong exposure to green coffee growing & value chain
- In depth knowledge of the green coffee industry and sustainability topics
- Successful implementation of key projects as key project manager or team leader
- Good overview in consumer insight
- Solid presentation & communication skills with ability to convince various stakeholders
