Americhem is a globally recognized designer and manufacturer of custom color Masterbatch, functional additives, engineered compounds and performance technologies.

The Key Account Manager optimizes sales growth and profitability in support of the business’s sales strategy and objectives. Primary responsibilities include the entire sales cycle such as researching and identifying viable opportunities, acquiring new accounts, closing new sales opportunities, and maintaining an existing account portfolio. This position requires extensive coordination and communication with external customers as well as internal associates including technical support, customer service, finance, and operational functions.
- Ensure Health & Safety, Quality and Environment policies and procedures are understood and followed
- Ensure 100% compliance in the Near Miss and Quality Miss systems
- Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained and improved
- Ensure 100% compliance with the corporate training
- Follow sites document control and record retention policies
- Maintains sales growth objectives and goals by effectively managing existing accounts with an emphasis on developing new opportunities
- Proactively and effectively builds relationships and networks across all levels and functions of customer accounts to ensure broad company representation, an understanding of customer’s value proposition, and strategic alignment
- Professionally conveys complex ideas, proposals, and programmes to customer contacts and management
- Proactively and effectively identifies customer needs, expectations, and requirements
- Develop a growth portfolio (as required), identifying and analyzing market trends influencing customer profit drivers within the industry. Target gaps to create growth opportunities.
- Accurately maintains required documentation by reporting sales calls, and maintaining sales account information
- Accurately analyses, manages, and forecasts revenue and profitability potential in business opportunities
- Technical Competency: Able to understand and articulate technical concepts required to communicate our value proposition to external customers and “brainstorm” with the internal technical teams
- Demonstrates effective prospecting, negotiating, and closing skills
- Contributes to achievement of team and company goals
- Develop and assist in implementation of ideas for continuous improvement
- Performs with (and contributes to) a highly motivated sales group with a strong team atmosphere
- Demonstrates basic technical knowledge of plastics processes, colour feed systems, extrusion and/or injection moulding processes
- Effectively provides problem-solving methods as they relate to the effective use of master batch, compounds, and additive materials
- Demonstrates ability to describe colour using industry accepted methods, including spectrophotometric outputs
- Demonstrates excellent negotiating skills to persuade and effectively achieve win-win results
- Demonstrates high initiative and tenacity to achieve aggressive goals, manage customer resistance, and pursue opportunities over extended periods of time
- Improves job knowledge by attending training and keeping relevant knowledge and skills current
- Entrepreneurial and driven professional with experience in a multinational environment
- Proven ability in B2B sales at senior technical level
- A solid background (with degree) in polymers, resins, additives, or injection/blow moulding an advantage
- Educated to degree level in science / technical discipline
- Minimum 2 years in a sales account management role relevant to the assigned markets
- Knowledge of packaging & polyesters
- Enterprise Systems: Fluent in capabilities of our enterprise system (IFS) and reporting systems
- Strong language skills (at least 2 Languages including English) and computer literate
- Exceptional organizational skills to include multi-tasking, planning, and time management
- Ability to adjust to ever-changing priorities
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, relationship-building, conflict resolution, and collaborative skills
