The Director, European Medical Affairs will be responsible for the planning and directing of medical and scientific activities which will support the commercial and pre-commercial activities of the company’s approved products as well as those in development. This position leads and supports the medical and scientific efforts to communicate

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Participates as an active member of the Global Medical Team to ensure that the strategy and vision of Medical Affairs is in support of the company's strategic plan
- Participates in organizing and conducting European advisory boards, speaker training, sales training, and Phase 4 research.
- Reviews literature, attends scientific meetings as appropriate, and interacts with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare providers (HCPs).
- Manages and coordinates activities surrounding publications and scientific communications.
- Functions as a reviewer for the European related Promotional Review Committee, Medical Review Committee, and Grants Review Committee.
- Coordinates, reviews, and reports on technical, scientific, and medical information relevant to the company’s products.
- Maintains close working relationship Marketing & Sales, Clinical Development, and other medical team members.

Required Experience

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Medical Doctor (MD) with Medical Affairs experience mandatory
- Endocrinology or Cardiovascular experience a plus
- 7+ years pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Working knowledge of and understanding of European compliance issues
- Strong team orientation and collaboration
- Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to interact with KOLs/HCPs
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
- Well organized and effective in time management skills
- Travel requirements: approximately 50-70%
