**The Role**:
As Strategic Partnerships Lead for the EMEAC region (Europe, Middle-East, Australia and Canada), you will scout, build and execute relevant partnerships that will help deploy the commercial strategy for Moderna’s portfolio in the region, with a primary focus on the respiratory virus vaccines portfolio (Covid, Flu & RSV, combinations) and the key markets.
You will be joining Moderna at a critical time for the company and its product pipeline. Moderna has developed from an R&D start-up to the provider of more than a billion of life-saving vaccines during the pandemic. Now the company is moving from a distinct pandemic model to a fully operational commercial model to launch several vaccines and other products in the coming years, while expanding geographically.
We have a unique opportunity to build up a model which is fully reflecting the uniqueness of our mRNA platform: to accelerate, personalize and democratize access to innovative prevention or treatment. Our commercial purpose is ‘to reinvent healthcare to make it personal’.
In this role, you would have the opportunity to play a lead role in building this new future, with a focus on making sure we build the relevant commercial partnerships that will complement our commercial platform and bring a unique and personal customer experience. Your primary focus will be on the respiratory vaccines portfolio but you will also be responsible for identifying relevant long-term partnerships in the region for the broad pipeline.
Reporting to the SVP, Head of EMEAC Region, you will be a member of the regional commercial leadership team. You will partner closely with all markets in the region and in particular, provide support and leadership to markets where partnerships will be established first. As the connection with the global teams is critical, you will work extensively with the Global Franchise and Digital teams, as well as with Medical, Market Access, Government Affairs, Regulatory and Supply Chain, to ensure alignment and collaboration.
**Here’s What You’ll Do**:
Build a deep understanding of the customers' landscape, customer journey and commercial platform vision. Scout and build partnerships that will help us build on our vision to create a personalized customer experience.
Evaluate partners that would cover a big number of health consumers or health care providers across the region or broaden our capacity to digitalize and personalize the customer journey experience for HCPs and consumers but will not be restricted to it. This could include digital health partners, pharmacy chains or big employers in the region, as non-exhaustive examples.
Identify and recommend which element we should build internally and which one we should partner on short
- or long-term.
Ensure we have the right data platform to learn and strengthen our footprint with these partnerships but also how those partnerships can help generate data or RWE where relevant moving forward.
Work closely with the GMs, local teams, regional leadership team and relevant global functions to select the right partnership strategy, and embed those in our customer journey and digital platform.
Execute the most relevant partnerships to drive access and individualized customer experience in the defined countries.
Define a roadmap to expand those to other markets and drive the implementation.
Build a multi-year plan together with the EMEAC Leadership Team and the global stakeholders that reflects the realization of the strategy and guide where partnerships will be needed for the short or long term. Define where and how a transition to own-built tools will be required.
Be at the forefront of the external environment regarding trends in use of technology, available systems and competitor moves to inform and guide decision as well as provide inspiration to the team.
**Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table**:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree; MBA, PharmD, MD or advanced degree preferred.
10+ years of progressive excellence within regional/global marketing roles, with 5+ years’ successful track record leading strategies and teams across defined geography.
Ability to collaborate among a range of key areas (marketing, sales force, medical, pricing/market access, supply chain and contracting).
A high degree of digital fluency, and a deep understanding with proven success, of digital strategies and tactics. Experience in developing plans based on customer journeys that touch a broader ecosystem of players (HCPs, HCCs, governmental players).
Intense curiosity and ambition to excel and build something from the ground up, navigating all the requisite ambiguity and complexity that comes with writing the rulebook while executing in real-time.
Previous success in developing and executing new partnerships that add significant value to the customers on top of the product (vaccines or therapeutics) delivered.
