We are looking for a full-time thin-film production engineer to join our company. You will join the team responsible to deposit our unique optical crystal on silicon wafers, using a world-class thin-film deposition tool. You will be at the core of the company and interact with other teams to enable our integrated photonic technology. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and developing the equipment used for thin film deposition and for improving its operation to enhance our productivity.

This role will include the following tasks and responsibilities:

- Supervision of the operation and maintenance of our thin film deposition tool, in coordination with senior engineers in the team
- Run processes on the tool to deliver high-quality materials to our technology department using recipes developed by our senior engineers
- Propose and develop innovative solutions to improve the reliability and productivity of the tool, using enhanced automation methods
- Coordinate and support maintenance in alignment with the needs of stakeholders across the different teams in the company
- Organize and perform repairs of electronic and/or mechanical components
- Interface with suppliers to source raw materials, spare parts and components
- Support and promote all environmental, health & safety and security requirements
**Requirements**:

- Eager to perform hands-on operation and maintenance of complex industrial equipment
- A broad range of interest or expertise in mechanics, electronics, automation
- Good organizational skills to plan and operate time-critical processes
- Creative, motivated, critical thinking, and hands-on attitude with the drive to tackle challenges
- Capable to learn quickly and adequately transfer that knowledge to others
- A background in vacuum technology or thin-film deposition and characterization will be positively considered but is not a pre-requisite
- Programming skills (e.g. python, C#,) and a good understanding of object-oriented programming are a plus
- Strong motivation for team working, with good verbal and written communication skills
- Communication skills should be in English and German
- Results-oriented personality with initiative and a can-do attitude.
**Education and experience**

A technical Bachelor’s degree (Fachhochschule) or a Master of Science in engineering is appropriate. Experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment is a plus but can be compensated by strong interest and willingness to learn.
