As we further grow and develop our external asset management business, we are looking for a young, supportive, engaged and results oriented professional with a banking background to develop and strengthen our External Asset Managers team in Bern. The new Assistant / Junior Relationship Manager (80%) would be part of a driven, highly motived and committed team. The person is based in Bern with direct reporting line to the Head EAM Basel.
- Your opportunity
- You support the client advisors in the team in all administrative matters
- You are responsible for the preparation of account openings incl. client history in consultation with the responsible client advisor
- Entering stock exchange orders: Stocks, Bonds, Options, FX
- Entering payment orders/lombard credits
- You maintain the customer data in the CRM
- You are the contact person for the external asset managers in administrative matters
- Processing of correspondence, monitoring of pending matters, management of client dossiers
- You prepare acquisition talks and client meetings
- Assist your team colleagues develop new client connections, bring in existing own client relationships, and be responsible for acquiring new business from existing clients
- Act as a trusted advisor to EAM, clients and prospects by providing recommendations that encompass multiple products and services
- Develop in-depth understanding of client's needs, preferences and overall wealth and be responsive to the changes in the business environment or clients' needs
- Effectively manage your book of clients and act as a relationship lead accountable for the clients' experience
- Leverage specialists, service officers and other expert resources to ensure the integrated delivery of investment fiduciary, credit, and banking solutions
- Use market intelligence to be on top of market developments and trends to align approach and identify opportunities for development
- Have a good understanding of business objectives and trends within the industry
- Meet and adhere to Risk & Compliance requirements and policies

You bring
- Banking apprenticeship or basic commercial training with relevant experience in the area of external asset management
- Bachelor or Master's degree in finance or economics, additional education in finance (CFA, AZEK) much appreciated
- You have experience in a similar function in the area of external asset managers/private banking
- You have experience in opening/closing accounts
- A client-focused individual with exceptional interpersonal skills
- Project management skills as leader as well as supporter, aligning internal and external stakeholders
- Curiosity to familiarize yourself with new topics and motivation to make a difference
- Solutions oriented, sales and financial aptitude is a must
- Ability to work and collaborate closely with other employees within Vontobel
- Pro-active attitude, analytical and structured thinking
- Highly motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit, you are a team player able to work under pressure
- Very good communication skills, and proficient in German and English (language level C2), both written and spoken, other languages such as French and Italian an advantage
- Experience and affinity in digital solutions and technical tools such as Avaloq as well as Excel, Power Point, Microsoft Office
