**Job purpose**

Beqom is looking for a Head of Engineering to oversee the technical direction and strategy of the company, and manage the day-to-day operations of the engineering department. You will be expected to provide leadership, guidance, and support to your team of engineers and work collaboratively with other departments to ensure that the company’s technical needs are met. You are also responsible for the quality of the entire software that your team is delivering and the overall efficiency and effectiveness of teams.

**Duties and responsibilities**

As a Head of Engineering, your main duties and responsibilities will be to:

- Develop and implement the company's technical strategy in collaboration with the executive team;
- Lead the engineering team to develop and deliver high-quality products that meet the company's standards and customer needs;
- Hire, train, and manage a team of software engineers, DevOps specialists, and any other staff members that are in your organization;
- Establish and maintain agile engineering processes and standards to ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of the company's products;
- Manage the engineering budget and resources to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget;
- Collaborate with other departments, such as product management, sales, and marketing, to ensure that the company's technical needs are aligned with business goals;
- Work with the QA team to manage the quality of the company's products, including developing and implementing a comprehensive QA strategy throughout the entire set of products;
- Foster a culture of innovation, trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering team;
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in the engineering field, and evaluate emerging technologies that could benefit the company.

**Must have**
- Master's degree in Computer Science;
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering or a related field;
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership role, such as Engineering Manager, Director of Engineering, or VP of Engineering;
- Strong technical skills and experience in software development, including knowledge of programming languages, databases, and cloud computing platforms;
- Experience managing DevOps specialists and working with infrastructure and operations management tools
- Experience working with QA teams and managing the quality of software products;
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team of engineers, DevOps specialists, and QA professionals;
- Experience working in an Agile development environment and using Agile methodologies;
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address technical challenges
