**About the job**

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern, within the Purchasing department, the Purchasing Coordinator assists with all tasks related to the Purchasing department. The Purchasing Coordinator reports to the Purchasing Manager.

**As Purchasing Coordinator, you will be responsible for the following duties**
- Supporting and working with the Purchasing Manager
- Monitoring stock levels and identify purchasing needs
- Tracking orders and ensure timely delivery
- Following up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders
- Updating internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts)
- Conducting market research to identify pricing trends
- Evaluating offers from vendors and negotiating better prices
- Performing vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reducing operating costs and performing inventory management
- Preparing cost analyses
- Updating records of invoices and contracts
- Maintaining cordial working relationships with vendors and supervising vendor activities
- Liaising with receiving and store staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition and compare deliveries with purchase orders to identify discrepancies

**As Purchasing Coordinator, we expect from you**:

- Previous hotel purchasing experience preferred
- Knowledge of HACCP standard
- Hands-on experience with purchasing software and Computer skills required
- Strong communication organizational skills
- Good negotiation and analytical skills
- Fluent in German and English
