**The predoc will be based at the HCGS of the Geneva Graduate Institute, in Geneva, Switzerland**. **The ideal start date is 1 October 2025, but flexibility around this can be accommodated.**

**Presentation of the Institute**:
The Geneva Graduate Institute, founded in 1927, is a world-renowned centre of excellence for the study of international relations and development. Located in Geneva, Switzerland, the Institute offers a stimulating, multicultural and interdisciplinary academic environment. It offers masters and doctoral programmes, and conducts cutting-edge research on major global challenges.

The postdoctoral fellow will develop his own research agenda on a range of research projects related to sustainable finance, biodiversity markets, carbon pricing, and global macroeconomic implications of climate and nature-related risks, under the supervision of Prof. Weder di Mauro. The position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with top-tier researchers, engage with international policy stakeholders, and contribute to high-impact academic and policy-oriented outputs.

The postdoc will be able to engage at the Economics Department and the Hoffmann Centre for Global Sustainability (HCGS) through research seminars and other such activities. In addition, the postdoc will have the opportunity to engage in joint research projects with the Center of Economic Policy Research (CEPR). This may offer opportunities to participate in events and conferences of the Climate and Environment program of CEPR as well as to engage in high-level joint event between HCGS and CEPR.

**Responsibilities**:

- Leading and contributing to academic research papers, including the opportunity of co-authorship with Prof. Weder di Mauro and collaborators;
- Develop a personal research agenda on range of research projects related to sustainable finance, biodiversity markets, carbon pricing, and global macroeconomic implications of climate and nature-related risks. Designing and leading research projects;
- Contributing to the preparation of policy briefs, technical reports, and presentations for both academic and policy audiences;
- Mentoring junior research staff and students and possibility of developing teaching experience;
- Participation and possible assistance in the organization of high-level research events, workshops, and stakeholder meetings;
- Contributing to the engagement with CEPR, policy, and civil society stakeholders.

**Qualifications**:

- PhD in Economics or a closely related field (completed or close to completion), with specialization in macroeconomics, environmental, climate, or nature finance;
- A strong research background in applied economics, environmental or public economics, or international macroeconomics;
- Excellent econometric and data analysis skills, with proficiency in R, Stata, or Python;
- Demonstrated ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals or high-quality working paper series;
- Excellent communication, presentation, and academic writing skills;
- Proactive, organized, and collaborative team member with the ability to manage projects independently;
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
