As part of the new research center "Climate Change, Extreme Events and Natural Hazards in the Alpine Region - CERC", which was founded as part of the SLF in Davos, we are seeking for the Alpine Remote Sensing research group as of January 2026 (for two years) a **Scientific Assistant 80-100% (f/m/d)**: Your tasks - Process and analyze SAR satellite data for the detection of surface displacements and potential mass movements in Alpine areas - Perform statistical analyses and quality control of results - Prepare technical reports and scientific publications - Contribute to projects with Swiss partners (e.g. federal and cantonal authorities) **Profile**: - Master’s degree in Geography, Engineering, or Natural Sciences - Experience with GIS, large datasets, and InSAR-based mass-movement monitoring - Strong programming skills. Experience with AI/ML methods is an advantage - Experience collaborating between research and practice, ideally in the Swiss context (municipalities, cantons, federal offices) - Excellent German and English; French or Italian are a plus - A structured, reliable, and team-oriented working style - Flüelastrasse 11, CH-7260 Davos Dorf
