Group Leader Materials Engineering

Optotune is a strongly growing and internationally active optics company based in Dietikon, Switzerland. We develop, manufacture and market the latest generation of adaptive optical elements for industrial and consumer markets.
Working within our materials development team, you develop exciting new products by integrating advanced technologies. In the team, you bring the next generation of innovative optical products from idea to production.
Tasks
- Lead an interdisciplinary team within the area of materials engineering, in particular polymers, thin films, metals, ceramics, coating processes, and bonding technologies to introduce new products into high-volume manufacturing
- Build and inspire high-performance teams with Optotune's core values
- Investigate, develop, and test new materials for product enhancement and access to new markets
- Select the best materials for high-volume manufacturing and carry out feasibility studies
- Stabilize manufacturing processes and improve knowledge and accessibility
- Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, communicate proactively, and manage stakeholders for alignment, business perspective, and high performance
**Requirements**:
- Min 3 years of experience in leadership and materials development preferably in a high-volume environment
- MSc degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or equivalent (chemistry or mechanical engineering with additional education in materials field...)
- Broad material expertise in polymers, metals, ceramics, MEMS, lab-on-chip, and surface activation technologies
- Familiarity with FMEA, Gage R&R, DOE, SPC and another statistical modeling
- Knowledge of Python and related programming languages is an advantage
- Strong planner and executer
- Strong leader who can motivate and inspire a team
- Proficiency in English and German desired
