The Role

The Finance & Institutional Partnerships product team has a mission to empower researchers to publish open access, with secured funding from their institutions, consortia or funders, so they can focus on publishing high quality research.
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Product Owner who will be part of the Accounting product team. This team is responsible for streamlined billing and payment processes as well as customer-centric invoicing and communication. Together with a Product Manager you will be collaborating with a cross-functional team including engineering, design, data science and publishing to build a compelling product roadmap, facilitate the execution, and deliver meaningful outcomes.

Key responsibilities
- Own the product backlog, hold Agile ceremonies, and execute the product roadmap in alignment with the Product Manager prioritising the delivery of value
- Collaborate with a product manager, designers, engineering, data analysts, and stakeholders to create the outcome that adds most value based on the organization’s objectives
- Turn functional requirements into well-defined actionable user stories, broken down into workable and measurable tasks, along with the definition of technical acceptance criteria
- Collaboratively ensure the product backlog is refined and ready for development, by promoting constructive discussions on alternative technical solutions, evaluating the impact on end-users, and analysing trade-offs
- Work closely with the technical delivery manager to manage technical requirements and capacity in alignment with product priorities
- Actively participate in the product discovery and feature priorization
- Help create and iterate on the roadmap and vision of your product
- Create and maintain a detailed up-to-date Technical and User Documentation, and tailor demos and presentations to stakeholders to get feedback

**Requirements**:
We are looking for somebody who can get the job done, that's crucial for us. If you convince us that you are the right person for this job, you don't have to match all the requirements. But from our experience you fulfill most of the requirements below anyway.
- At least 3 years of working experience as a Product Owner in a global fast pace environment
- Solid experience with software development processes, databases, analytics, event-driven platforms, and APIs
- Strong knowledge of Agile principles and processes
- Experience in the billing and payment environment
- Data-driven and target-oriented with a decisive, proactive and collaborative nature
- Analytical skills and independent, entrepreneurial approach, attention to detail
- Communicate effectively with team members to achieve project goals
- Solid communication skills in English, both written and verbal are an absolute must
