The Merantix AI Campus organisation is an international community that brings together the AI ecosystem and creates coworking communities. Our goal is to build the world’s leading platform for stakeholders in the AI ecosystem to build and scale impactful AI. After having built a thriving coworking space and community in Berlin we’re now expanding to Basel to build our next location and connect Basel to our international AI ecosystem.

About the AI Campus Berlin

The Merantix AI Campus Berlin is a breakout success One and a half years after its opening, more than 800 talents across 65 AI teams are building AI solutions with the AI Campus as their home base and location for collaboration and exchange. That’s why we are ready to further scale and take the AI Campus to new locations.

The AI Campus is an initiative by the AI Venture Studio Merantix. Merantix builds and invests in the AI category leaders of tomorrow. In addition to 7 product AI ventures, Merantix has built Merantix Momentum - a 50-people strong AI solutions provider.

About the AI Campus Basel

We’re now building the AI Campus Basel in the BaseLink areal, one of the most innovative life science hubs worldwide. The AI Campus Basel will be a strategic location of our international and growing AI Campus ecosystem and will provide space for collaboration, team work, knowledge exchange events, workshops and more.

The goal of the AI Campus Basel is to create a platform for stakeholders in the Life Science industry and to provide a space for the collaborative development and implementation of AI-based solutions. With that, we’re creating a functioning AI ecosystem that will support the innovation and value creation of the Swiss Life Science industry.

Your role

We’re looking for an entrepreneurial, hands-on and driven individual to lead the development, roll-out and community building at the AI Campus in Basel.

An elementary part of the AI campus is the community and relationship between the various members of the network (researchers, talent startups, SMEs, corporates, etc.). As the face of the AI Campus Basel you will lead on community building and actively foster interaction between stakeholders. Hereby, you not only connect the members but also support them in their daily campus related requests.

We have tried and tested playbooks and concepts for building our community at the AI Campus Berlin. Your role will be to implement our concept in Basel and adapt it to the needs of stakeholders on site.

**Your main responsibilities will contain**:

- Be the face of AI Campus Basel on the ground and lead on all operations
- and community building elements;
- Lead the hiring and building out the AI Campus Basel team;
- Implement our community building concepts and operations playbooks and foster engagement with and between the various campus members;
- Work closely with our AIC Berlin team and ensure consistency in quality and member experience between our locations in Berlin and Basel;
- Lead the curation, acquisition and onboarding of community members and own the member experience;
- Connect our members based on their needs to foster opportunities for collaboration and establish a community;
- Be a friendly and communicative point of contact to our members and there to support them on day-to-day business related issues;
- Expand partnership network with external companies for the benefit of our members.

**Profile**:
We define ourselves by a culture of ownership and cooperation. As part of an early-stage team we’re looking for a team player with a high sense of ownership and excitement for building something new. We are looking for entrepreneurial, driven, capable, visionary and prudent talents with proven track records of personal, academic and professional achievement.
- You have a BSc or MSc degree in business or social sciences;
- You have gained 3-5+ years of working experience in a similar role within a dynamic entrepreneurial environment;
- You have a passion for community building and connecting people;
- You’re super hands-on and comfortable working in a fast-pace environment, you’re not afraid to get your hands dirty;
- You love working with people and have experience in building and leading new teams;
- You’re passionate about startups, innovation and have a good understanding of new technologies;
- You have excellent communication (verbal and written English and German) and interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams;
- You have an interest in presenting and public speaking
