**1. Summary**

We are looking for experienced freelance graphic designers to help us respond to the growing demand for high-quality designs that reflect the WIPO brand. The purpose of this vacancy is to establish a roster of qualified graphic designers to be called upon whenever the need arises.

**2. Main duties**

The contractor is expected to perform the following tasks, in accordance with WIPO’s visual identity guidelines and templates and under the art direction of the internal design team:

- Create artwork and layouts for digital and print flyers, banners, newsletters, social media posts, website visuals, publicity materials, trade fairs and exhibitions, utilizing the latest versions of Adobe CC graphic design software and templates in WIPO’s digital publishing platform
- Adapt materials, as required, in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish and Russian
- Create short animations and videos, as required, utilizing the latest versions of Adobe CC animation and video-editing software

**3. Supervision and support**

The contractor will work under the supervision of the lead in-house Graphic Designer, under the overall direction of the Head of the Publications and Design Section.

The contractor will be supplied with WIPO brand guidelines and brand identity assets, Adobe CC InDesign templates and access to WIPO’s digital publishing platform. An introduction to the digital publishing platform will be supplied, as well as some follow-up support (English only).

Work will be distributed and submitted via our online platforms. Regular online meetings on MS Teams will allow for briefings, feedback, planning and general contact.

**4. Profile**

We require an experienced graphic design professional with the following experience, skills and competences:

- Professionally accredited training in graphic design.
- Five years of progressively responsible professional experience in graphic and artwork design.
- Proven ability to work under pressure, managing multiple tasks with short deadlines.
- Proven record of achievement in conceiving and creating high-quality design for social media and web, as well as for trade fair stands and exhibitions.
- Proven record of achievement in conceiving and creating high-quality design for publications, publicity materials and other information products, which supports and enhances the editorial content.
- Proven proficiency in Adobe CC software.
- Experience in working with texts in non-Latin languages, in particular Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Russian.
- Experience in creating infographics.
- Ability to create short animations and videos.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective partnerships and working relations in a multi-cultural environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.

Experience of XML-based publishing tools would be an advantage.

**5. Duration and payment**

The expected maximum duration of this framework agreement is five years. Work will be on-demand, based on an hourly rate to be determined.

Payment will be made on invoice, based on actual hours of work rendered at the agreed hourly rate, as confirmed by the supervisor. Applicants are requested to provide an indication of their remuneration expectations in Swiss francs (hourly rate).
