Teaching Assistant

Collège du Léman is one of Switzerland’s most prestigious international day and boarding schools, located on the edge of Lake Geneva in view of the Swiss Alps.

It is a truly international community with more than100 different nationalities amongst the 2000 day and 200 boarding students. They come together on a green, village-like campus covering 8 hectares.

**The main purpose of the role**

The assistant work alongside teachers to promote effective teaching and learning and to provide supervision outside the classroom in order to assist our stated aim of providing a safe environment for all students.

**Key responsibilities**
- Promote the school values RISE, Golden Rules, and Positive Discipline;
- Accompanying the students between the classrooms and the buses;
- Supervise actively at recess times and at lunch time while the children eat;
- Supporting teachers to promote effective teaching and learning within the classroom;
- Taking responsibility for the care of all equipment, as appropriate;
- Providing general clerical/ admin support as appropriate;
- Accompanying educational visits as required;
- Ensure the health and safety of all students.

**Skills and Competencies**
- Teaching assistant qualification
- Experience or qualification in learning support is an asset
- Show good judgment and sense of priorities
- Take initiative when necessary
- Speak English as mother tongue
